ESL survey: What make it difficult to speak in English? (By DUT1- S1 July session 2010)

1. Don’t know how to speak, understand the meaning but don’t know how to explain.

2. I don’t know how to arrange the words properly and not confident.

3. Afraid of projecting grammar mistakes.

4. Shy because if we speak in English, our friends will laugh at us.

5. My heart will beat so fast if I speak in English because my English pronunciation is very low.

6. My mother tongue is not English language. I don’t know how to speak correctly in that language.

7. Because I don’t learn English properly with my teacher. I want the teacher to teach me again and again and again and again.

8. I feel very nervous when I say people or teacher in front of me.

9. Don’t know how to arrange the words when I speak English and afraid if the grammar and pronunciation have mistakes.

10. Not difficult at all but sometimes we feel uncomfortable to speak it. But it’s fun when we can speak it fluently.

11. For me it’s not difficult to study or learn English, it’s up to our confidence. If we are confident to speak in English, there should be no problem.

12. It’s no easy to speak English because actually I don’t know the word meaning in what I’m trying to say.

13. For me speak English is hard because I am not used to it. And for me if I speak English is hard to arrange the word that’s why my English bad.

14. Difficult to speak to others because my tongue is like a snake, twisting all around. But sometimes I can easily speak in English. Sometimes it’s hard when have to talk all nonsense things.

15. Because I don’t understand and hard to explain the meaning.

16. I have the idea to explain the topic but I don’t know how to say in English.

17. English is a difficult language for me and don’t know the meaning.

18. English word has many meanings and this make me don’t know how to speak in English.

19. Because some people really don’t know how to speak properly and nicely and sometimes we feel shy when speak in English.
