Writing a Curriculum Vitae/ Resume

The resume should contain all the details of the applicant. The resume should have the following headings:-

1)      Personal details
2)      Education
3)      Qualifications
4)      Work Experience
5)      Other information
6)      References

All the details/particulars should then be listed under these headings.

Personal details 
In this section, you should include particulars  such as address, telephone number, date of birth, nationality, identity card number and marital status. This section will provide important information about yourself to the future employers.

Education       
In this section, you should include details on the education that you have obtained. You should state the institutions in which you had your education  and the time spent at the institution.  The listing of the education details should be in a reverse chronological order.

Qualifications
In this section, you should include details on the qualifications that you have which includes the year in which you obtained the qualification. The listing of the qualifications should start with the most recent. 

Work Experience
In this section, you should include the description on the working experiences that you have.  For a fresh graduate like you, this could include the time duration of which you had undergone  any form of training (eg. your industrial training session), the job title / description  and the name and address of the company.

Other information
In this section,  the kind of information that you could include would be skills that are related to the post  that you are applying. These could include courses or training that you had  undergone ( e.g. computer classes, driving license etc.)

References
In this section, references mean any  form of confirmation on the validity of the information that you have supplied under the other headings which is given by a person who knows you  (referee). For a fresh graduate like you, the most likely referee is your  Course Coordinator.
