MUET Speaking: Individual Presentation Sample

EXAMPLE OF AN INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION

Good morning, Puan Fong, Puan Nurul and my friends. Students are bored after their final exams because there are no lessons most of the time. They have nothing much to do and have too much free time. They do not study as the lessons will not be tested in the exams. Furthermore, they are already in a holiday mood. Thus, they fail to attend school. In order to combat this problem, I suggest that we organize a concert to encourage student to come to school after their final exams. Introduction
We can have many types of performances in the concert. Dances, a choir performance, or sketches are fun and entertaining. Students get to show off their talents and watch their friends perform. Besides serving as a form of entertainment in school after week of studying for exams, concerts allow students to cultivate their creativity and develop their talents. Many of our local actors, actresses and singers had a lot of exposure performing on stage during their school years. Point 1 (fun, entertaining)
Organizing a concert would benefit students tremendously as they would have the chance to work together as a group to ensure that the concert runs smoothly and successfully. Thus, they learn the values of teamwork, cooperation and patience that would help develop their character. On top of that, they work together with friends of various races. This instils further understanding and tolerance that would promote racial integration. For example, in order to produce a sketch, they have to be aware of and sensitive to certain issues in their scripts so as not to offend anybody. Point 2 (instils moral values)
Students can also sell tickets for the purpose of fund-raising. This will motivate them to produce a good concert as they need to persuade people to buy their tickets. The proceeds from the ticket sales could be spent on further activities such as study trips, competitions and welfare projects. Point 3 (fund-raising)
In conclusion, I believe that organizing a concert would encourage students to come to school after their final exams. They would find organizing a concert fun, entertaining and worthwhile. They would be able to develop their talents and personality as well as raise funds. All these will definitely create an interest in attending school. Thank you. Conclusion
